Summer Fun at the Rialto
Events Sponsored By:
Missoula Children's Theatre June 10-15
$75/Student
Please make sure to arrive by 10 am on Monday, June 10, 2024. No late arrivals will be seen.
The group audition is a 2-hour process at which all children who are interested in being cast must attend for the entire time. No preparation is needed. Our team of actor/directors will guide the children through the audition process with easy-to-follow instructions on basic movement, lines, and song. At the end of the two-hour audition, the cast will be announced, and each cast member will receive a rehearsal schedule for the week. We rehearse a total of 4 ½ hours each day, two-2 hour sessions (starting at 10 am sharp) with a short snack break in-between. Although not all cast members are needed at every session, those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week, and if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.About the Show
When Captain Hook sends his right-hand man, Smee, on a quest to capture Peter Pan, little does he realize what fantastic adventures await him and his pirate posse. Mistaken identities, ever-morphing clouds, a classy crocodile, some very lost boys, and a fickle shadow all add to the mayhem. Meanwhile, Mr. and Mrs. Darling embark on a quest of their own and find themselves trekking everywhere from Hawaii to the North Pole in search of their three missing children.
Have A Little More Fun With Special Skill Workshops!
Missoula Children’s Theatre staff focuses on specific performance skills during 45 minute workshops on June 11-13. Kids don’t have to be part of the Peter and Wendy show cast to participate. All workshops will be conducted in the Devereaux Room at 222 4th St, Loveland, CO.
Acting
“All the world’s a stage,” and all your students, merely players! This workshop explores the basic tools of an actor’s trade - observation, memorization, concentration, and imagination - in an entertaining way. The students participate in fun exercises, learning to apply the actor’s tools to performing and their everyday lives.

FAQ: How is this event different than the Missoula Children's Theatre?
In 2022, Backstage Rialto launched BRCT as an in-house program developed right here in Loveland. This year continues the tradition. Where Missoula Children's Theatre focuses on the process of production, BRCT focuses on a classroom environment and the creative process of training the imagination through devised theatre.
